What inspired you to combine tarot readings with tattoo artistry?
I think tarot and tattoos complement each other as they can assist us in processing our emotions and help us heal.
Why did you agree to collaborate with ALTAR TATTOO STUDIO, and how do you see your role in this project?
I really love the energy of the studio and the amazing artists who work there. I feel like my role is to kick off the project, then allow the artists to do what they do best!
Do you believe tarot can truly help people find the perfect tattoo? If so, how?
Yes, I do think tarot can help guide a querent to their perfect tattoo. Tarot allows us to open a window to our soul and find something that we truly connect with.
What type of people usually seek tarot readings for tattoo inspiration? Are they going through life changes, looking for spiritual guidance, or do they have different motivations?
I feel like it can be a mix of everything. Some people are seeking healing and spiritual guidance, while others just think it’s an amazing experience.
Have you ever had an experience where a tarot reading helped someone discover the meaning or inspiration for their tattoo?
I had readings where people have been able to create connections between several of their tattoos. It’s always amazing to help others gain insight.
How long have you been reading tarot, and what is your experience in this field?
I’ve been reading tarot since 2020 and became Biddy Tarot Certified in 2024. It has been an amazing adventure so far! I’ve had the joy of working at markets, metaphysical shops, apothecaries, and now Altar Tattoo Studio.
What techniques or tarot spreads do you most commonly use to help clients uncover meaningful symbols for their tattoos?
I am actually not a fan of traditional spreads. I feel like they can be limiting. I offer custom/unstructured spreads that are unique to the querent.
Do you notice a difference between people who seek tarot readings for tattoo inspiration versus those who come for more traditional guidance?
I feel like those looking for tattoo inspiration can carry a lighter energy versus those seeking guidance. Sometimes people need to work through something heavy.
Has there ever been a moment where someone completely changed their tattoo decision after a reading? If so, what was the most interesting or surprising experience related to this?
I have not experienced this yet. But I’m excited for the challenges that would bring as I’m always open to learning and growing.
